The Red Baron

Yeah, I know that Canadians and Australians like to argue over who shot him down. ;-)

There was an interesting documentary on the subject. The most fascinating part was the interview with a 104 year old Australian who is the last living person to witness the Baron's death. The subject is still getting air time despite the decades.

Old technologies still work

Forgot to mention that at the Saturday talk the presentation screen would not reflect the laser pointers. I actually had an old style metal telescoping pointer and used it instead.

Hmmm... Maybe I should keep a slide rule in the drawer, just in case... ;-)

Large Tree Falls in Forest ;-)

"If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, did it make a sound?"

I am told that my talk on safety analysis was great. Only difficulty was that there was a snow storm a few days ago and so 10 of the 30 students showed up. At least they got some good information and I got to practice my public speaking.

Well, in this case, semi-private public speaking...

Keep you posted if I get any email comments from the students.

DC Shindig?

Just got invited to a shindig in DC late December. It is from a public relations firm. Not sure if we can go because it is close to Xmas. But it would be nice. Good food and netowrking is usually quite a nice combination. :-)

7 Minutes or Less

This Saturday I have been invited to give a presentation to a group of high school students. The subject is an overview of what safety analysts do and my time limit is seven minutes. I have been practicing my slides, but it is going to be close on time...
